April 2011 – Women’s Month at Leicester Mixed Martial Arts Academy

1. Rosi Sexton Women’s Seminar

Leicester MMA Academy are excited to announce that our friend, MMA star Dr Rosi Sexton will be back to teach a women only seminar on Sunday April 24th.

Dr Sexton is an inspirational athlete, having achieved so much in the sport. She has a record of 12-2, with 7 of those wins coming by submission and has been ranked number one in her weight class in the world! She has also proven a very successful coach, leading men and women to victory in the cage.

*30 minute submission wrestling class taught by LSF women’s coach Caz Tweedy (1.30-2pm)
*2 hour MMA session with Rosi Sexton (2-4pm)
*Rolling time (4-4.30pm)

2. FREE MMA Fitness Classes for Women

For one month only Leicester MMA Academy is inviting women to train for FREE on it’s popular Thursday MMA Fitness classes.

These sessions run for one hour and feature a calisthenic and boxercise style warm up, a 6 station strength and conditioning circuit, an abdominal routine and finish with a stretch and cool down.

Our MMA Fitness sessions are one of the gym’s most popular classes and a must try for any fitness enthusiast and those looking for a different challenge.

If you are new to the gym it’s a perfect chance to come along and meet the team. And if you are a regular member, challenge the women in your life to come and test themselves on the circuits you do every week!

Classes in this deal will start at 7:30pm on Thursdays throughout April (7th, 14th, 21st, 28th).

Try something new, meet new people and miss the rush of seasonal gym rats wanting to get fit for summer by starting now and taking advantage of the limited time offer.

3. Leicester Women Team trip to Manchester

Our women’s team will be heading up to Machester for the Femme Fighters charity BJJ workshop being taught by Helen Currie to raise money for Cancer Research UK. For details of this event click here to go to the Femme Fighters Website.
