UFC and The Ultimate Fighter Season 8 veteran Roli Delgado recently spent a few days training and teaching at Leicester Mixed Martial Arts Academy.
Delgado is a BJJ Black Belt and catch wrestler, winner of several NAGA and Grapplers Quest tournaments and has more than 20 MMA fights. After his stint on TUF8 he won his first UFC fight by submission and lost a controversial decision to the UK’s Paul Kelly before fighting Leicester Shootfighters student Andre Winner. He runs a very successful gym in Little Rock Arkansas called Westside MMA and has coached numerous MMA and grappling competitors, most notably BJJ Blackbelt and multiple time world champion Hillary Williams.
In Europe to referee a grappling tournament Roli stayed at Leicester MMA Academy for 3 days to share his extensive grappling knowledge and do some training with head coach Nathan Leverton. During a Sunday seminar, the Monday classes and daytime closed-door sessions he shared his unique blend of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Catch Wrestling and Sambo that make up his no-gi game. We are very grateful for the time this excellent instructor has given us and have already begun to incorporate his material in to our system.
