UFC Fighter and The Ultimate Fighter 9 Winner James “Lightning” Wilks Seminar

Originally from Leicestershire, James Brett Wilks is a professional MMA fighter and winner of The Ultimate Fighter 9: United States vs. United Kingdom in the welterweight division.

Wilks began his martial arts training in TaeKwonDo and JKD and started training under Erik Paulson in Combat Submission Wrestling after moving to the US in 2000. He is a BJJ brown belt and known for his strong submission game, especially his leglocks.

Before heading on to TUF9 James held the Gladiator Challenge welterweight title. With 7 pro MMA fights under his belt he made in on to season 9 of the UFC reality TV show The Ultimate Fighter, representing Team UK under coach Michael Bisping. James defeated favourite Che Mills by submission in the first round during the elimination bouts and stopped Frankie Lester twice to proceed to the TUF 9 Finale in Las Vegas where he submitted Team USA’s DaMarques Johnson in the first round to become The Ultimate Fighter.

James is the head coach at Lightning MMA in Orange County, California.
